One room, or the whole house
Cleanouts are rarely about the junk. They are about a closing date, an estate, or finally getting the car back in the garage. We work to your timeline.
Where we usually end up
Every one of these has its own problems. Telling us which room it is says more than telling us how many boxes there are.
Garage
The most common call we get. Paint cans, tires, bikes, lumber offcuts, half a deck. Set the paint and fuel aside and we will tell you where it goes.
Basement
Damp boxes, old furniture, a water heater that came out years ago. Bulkhead access is fine and so is a narrow stairwell.
Attic
Pull down stairs and low headroom make this the slowest room in the house. Worth mentioning on the phone so the day is planned right.
Whole house
Estate work, a sale closing, or a family clearing a place out. Usually more than one day and better planned than rushed.
Photo pendingBefore and after pair from a garage or basement cleanoutThese jobs deserve a plan
Clearing a house after a death or a move into assisted living is not a normal hauling job and we do not treat it like one. There is usually a deadline attached to a closing, several family members with a say, and a lot of decisions still being made while the truck is in the driveway.
The practical approach is to go room by room over a few days rather than trying to empty the place in one afternoon. Tell us when the family has been through, tell us what is being kept, and the rest goes.
If you want items set aside for donation, say so and we will keep them separate instead of loading them in with everything else.
Move it, load it, or hand it over
Cleanouts are the one job where all three genuinely make sense, depending on how much time you have.
Tow it yourself
Take the trailer when you need it and bring it back when the cleanout is done. Worth asking about if you would rather move it on your own schedule.
Rent the trailer
It sits in the driveway for the length of the project. Load a couple of hours at a time, on evenings and weekends, without anyone waiting on you.
Full service
We show up, you point, it leaves. Right answer when there are stairs, heavy furniture, a hard deadline, or nobody local to do the lifting.
Cleanout FAQ
Do I have to sort everything before you come?
No. Keep back anything you want to save and we take the rest. If you would rather point as we go, that works too.
Can family go through it first?
Yes, and it is usually worth it. Tell us the timeline and we can plan the pickup around when everyone has been through.
What happens to items still in good shape?
Tell us what you would like set aside for donation and we will keep it separate rather than throwing it in with the rest.
Should I rent the trailer and load it myself instead?
It depends on how much time and how many hands you have. Call and describe the job and we will tell you honestly which way makes more sense for what you are dealing with.
Do you handle the appliances and mattresses too?
Yes, they just go a separate route because Massachusetts restricts them from ordinary disposal. Give us a count when you call.
Clearing a house out?
Call and walk us through it room by room. That gets you a far closer answer than a form does.
