What we take

What goes in, what needs a phone call, what does not

Massachusetts restricts a real list of material from ordinary disposal. Most places do not tell you until you are standing next to a full trailer. Here it is up front.

Bucket one

Goes right in

Standard household junk, furniture and general construction or demo debris. No phone call needed, just load it.

  • Household furniture: couches, chairs, tables, dressers, bed frames
  • Boxes, bags and bins of general household items
  • Kitchen cabinets, countertops and vanities
  • Carpet, padding and non hazardous flooring
  • General construction and demolition debris
  • Interior demo material from a room or a whole floor
  • Toys, sporting goods and exercise equipment
  • Grills, mowers and small lawn equipment
  • Sheds, fencing and deck boards once taken apart
  • Curbside piles the town truck would not take
Bucket two

Special handling, call first

These are not refused. They are restricted from ordinary disposal under the Massachusetts waste bans, so they get routed to the right facility instead of going in with the load.

Mattresses and box springs

We take mattresses and box springs and dispose of them properly. Give us a count when you call.

Textiles

Clothing, linens and fabric have been banned from regular disposal since November 2022. They go to textile recovery, not the load.

Appliances and white goods

Refrigerators, freezers, washers, dryers, stoves and dishwashers. Anything with Freon needs professional refrigerant removal before it can be scrapped.

Electronics and CRTs

Televisions, monitors and computers, especially older tube sets, are restricted and go to electronics recycling.

Whole tires

Restricted from ordinary disposal and routed to a tire recycler.

Leaf and yard waste

Leaves, brush and grass go to a composting or yard waste facility. Keep them in their own pile and the job moves faster.

Clean wood, gypsum wallboard, brick, concrete and asphalt

In volume these are restricted and go to construction and demolition processing. Small amounts mixed in with a household load are a different conversation, so ask.

Lead acid batteries and metal

Both restricted from regular disposal and both easy to recycle. Set them aside and mention them.

Knowing this list is part of the job. Call 774-274-0633 before you build the pile and we will tell you which items need their own path, so nothing gets left in your driveway on pickup day.

Bucket three

Cannot take

These do not go in a trailer, ours or anyone else's. Your town or the state handles them, and most towns run a household hazardous waste collection.

  • Hazardous material of any kind
  • Chemicals, solvents and pool chemicals
  • Paint, stain and thinner
  • Motor oil, gasoline, diesel and antifreeze
  • Propane tanks and pressurised cylinders
  • Asbestos containing material
  • Medical or biological waste
  • Ammunition, flares and explosives

If you are looking at something and cannot tell which bucket it is in, that is what the phone is for. Describe it and we will tell you plainly.

Questions

What we take FAQ

Why does Massachusetts restrict all this?

The state runs a set of waste bans that keep recyclable and recoverable material out of ordinary disposal. It covers containers, paper and cardboard, yard waste, metal, wood, wallboard, textiles, tires, appliances and electronics, among other things.

Do you take mattresses?

Yes. We take mattresses and box springs and dispose of them properly. Give us a count when you call.

What do I do with paint?

Most towns run a household hazardous waste day or a drop off site. Check with your town, and do not put liquid paint in the load.

What if I am not sure what something is?

Call 774-274-0633 and describe it. One question on the phone is faster than finding out at the curb.

Is this legal advice?

No. It is a plain summary of how the Massachusetts waste bans affect a hauling job. Your town and the state are the authority on the specifics.

Not sure what is in your pile?

Call and describe it. We will tell you which bucket it falls into before you load a thing.
